ICE CHIPS
This ICE conclude a brief two game Central Division road trip tonight in Medicine Hat.
Last night in Swift Current, Matthew Savoie scored the game winning goal on the power play with 1:46 remaining in regulation time in a 4-3 victory. Jakin Smallwood, Mikey Milne and a short handed goal by Connor McClennon rounded out Winnipeg's offense as their record improved to 18-1. Gage Alexander made 21 of 24 saves.
Following tonight's game, the ICE will have played all teams at least once who they will face during the 2021-22 WHL regular season schedule.
ICE VS TIGERS
The ICE play Medicine Hat six times during the WHL regular season (Tonight @ MH / Next Saturday @ Wpg / Jan 1 @ MH / Feb 5 @ Wpg / Feb 6 @ Wpg / Feb 25 @ MH).
Winnipeg's last visit to Co-Op Place was Monday, February 17, 2020. Isaac Johnson had one goal and two assists, while Mikey Milne, Owen Pederson and Jackson Leppard also scored in a 4-2 win. Liam Hughes made 34 of 36 saves.

Forward Aiden Oiring, who was recalled from the Southern Alberta Hockey Academy U18 Prep team of the Canadian Sport School Hockey League for last Saturday's game against the Blades, was +1 and 2 for 2 in the face off circle during his WHL debut. The 16 year old also played last night in Swift Current.
In 13 games this season with the Southern Alberta Hockey Academy, Oiring has 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points and 18 penalty minutes. The 5'7", 164 pound forward was selected by the ICE in the third round, 58th overall in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft.
Defenseman Omen Harmacy, who was recalled from the Winnipeg Thrashers of the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League, played his first WHL game November 7th with the ICE. He was +1 in a 7-5 win over the Red Deer Rebels

WHL HISTORY
With their 11th win of the season October 27th in Calgary, Winnipeg won the most consecutive games to open a WHL season since 2006 eclipsing the previous mark of 10 games set by the 2014-15 Kelowna Rockets and 2006-07 Vancouver Giants.
A 3-1 loss in Edmonton October 29th saw the ICE fall one game short of tying for the longest winning streak in WHL history to start a season. The 1988-89 Swift Current Broncos hold the record of 12 straight wins before losing in Saskatoon October 30, 1988.
