Savoie Lifts ICE over Swift Current

Matthew Savoie's ninth goal of the season on the power play with 1:46 remaining in the third period gave the Winnipeg ICE a 4-3 win over the Swift Current Broncos Friday night.

Jakin Smallwood, Mikey Milne and Connor McClennon also scored as the ICE extended their winning streak to seven games, improving their record to 18-1.

Winnipeg led 2-0 after the first period and 3-1 through 40 minutes.

Josh Davies, Sam McGinley and Raphael Pelletier replied for Swift Current.

The ICE out shot the Broncos 29-24. In between the pipes, Gage Alexander improved his record to 9-1 while Isaac Poulter suffered the loss.

Both teams were 1/4 on the power play. McClennon's goal was short handed for the ICE.

The ICE conclude a two game road trip Saturday night in Medicine Hat, 8:00 (Central time) vs the Tigers.
