Trans-Canada Highway Clash Begins Six Game Road Swing

Regina, Sask. - The Regina Pats (6-10-0) begin their six game road swing at Mosaic Place against the Moose Jaw Warriors (7-9-1) at 7:00 p.m., Saturday night.

The Pats are coming off a 3-3 six game homestand and are riding a six game losing-streak following a 6-1 loss to the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday, November 13th at the Brandt Centre. The Pats opened the scoring for a third straight game, with Tanner Howe scoring his sixth of the season, but ultimately gave up six unanswered goals, as the Hurricanes snapped their six game skid. Lethbridge tied it up at one going into the second, and scored three in the second period, before two more in the third.

The Moose Jaw Warriors are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Brandon Wheat Kings on Friday in Brandon. The Warriors are 3-3-0-1 over seven games in the month of November, having been outscored 21-to-20 during that time. The Warriors were last on home ice on November 14th, defeating the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-2. They are 2-1-0-1 over their last four home games dating back to October 29th.

HEAD TO HEAD (1-1-0)

This will mark the third of 10 meetings this season and the third of five in the first half.

The last time these two teams met was on November 3rd at the Brandt Centre, with the Pats defeating the Warriors 4-3. Both meetings this season have ended by one goal, with the Warriors taking home the first meeting 3-2 on October 8th at Mosaic Place.

HEADLINES

The Regina Pats announced a coaching change Thursday, parting ways with Dave Struch and VP of Hockey Ops & GM John Paddock taking over the coaching duties...Struch went 55-101-9-6 from 2018-2021 after he was promoted from an Assistant Coach to Head Coach prior to the 2018-19 season...Paddock is 165-89-21-13 as the Pats' head coach and was named the WHL's coach of the year in 2015 and 2017...this will also mark the first game behind the bench for Paddock since May, 27th, 2018 when the Pats lost the Memorial Cup Final (1,273 days).

Pats forwards Jakob Brook and Zack Stringer came off the injured list Tuesday and are back in the lineup for tonight's game...Stringer missed the last three games with an upper-body injury while Brook was out since October 22nd, missing the last eight games due to illness.

Ended their six game homestand with a 3-3 record, having dropped their last three games...the Pats began their homestand with wins over Swift Current, Moose Jaw and Brandon before losing to Red Deer, Edmonton and Lethbridge...over their homestand, they outscored their opponent, 23-to-22, while also holding a +41 shot differential (219 SF / 178 SA), averaging 36.5 shots on net per game during that time.

85: Shots on goal for Regina Pats forward Connor Bedard leads the WHL...the North Vancouver native is averaging 5.31 shots on net per contest this season along with eight goals and 12 points in 16 games...he has scored 2G-0A over his last five games...last game he had a season low one shot on net.

230: Faceoff wins for Pats captain Logan Nijhoff is the second highest total in the WHL behind Prince Albert's Reece Vitelli (251)...he went 15-25 on the faceoff dot on Saturday against Lethbridge and holds 56.8 faceoff win percentage this season, which is second on the Pats.
