Late Hooks Homers Sink Travs

Corpus Christi, TX - The Arkansas Travelers led the entire way until the final pitch of the game and dropped their first road contest of the season, 10-8 in 10 innings to the Corpus Christi Hooks. J.J. Matijevic ended the game with a two-run home run to dead center field. It was the third homer of the game for the home team. The Travs had led from the top of the first on, building a four run lead in the third inning and as big as a five run advantage in the fifth. Layne Henderson was the winning pitcher throwing two shutout innings. Michael Stryffeler took the loss for Arkansas.

Moments That Mattered

* Joe Rizzo belted a two-run homer to left-center field in the top of the fifth to put the Travs up by five.

* Pedro Leon rocked a grand slam in the bottom of the fifth to pull the Hooks back within one.

* Chandler Taylor tied it in the bottom of the eighth with a two-run homer.
