Calgary, AB - David Kope broke a 2-2 third period tie with 54.5 seconds remaining to push the Edmonton Oil Kings past the Calgary Hitmen 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
Jacson Alexander and Ethan Cap also found the back of the net for the visitors who improve their Western Hockey League leading record to 12-1-3-0.
Carson Focht with his team leading 10th goal of the season and James Malm with his second supplied the Calgary scoring.
The Hitmen, who hit a pair of goal posts in the setback, outshot Edmonton 40-28.
Calgary, 8-5-1-0, is back in the 'Dome on Wednesday, Nov. 6 to host the defending WHL Champion Prince Albert Raiders. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
