Spokane Chiefs News Release
SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane Chiefs picked up a point in the standings with a 4-3 overtime loss to the Everett Silvertips on Sunday night at Spokane Arena.
After Everett opened the scoring with a Jalen Price goal at 7:10 of the first, the Chiefs didn't wait long to respond as Minnesota Wild prospect Adam Beckman pulled things even just 35 seconds later. Spokane claimed their first lead of the night with only 15 seconds remaining in the period as Michael King scored the game's first power play goal to put the Chiefs ahead 2-1 into the first intermission.
The Silvertips scored the lone goal of the second period and another at 5:51 of the third to reclaim the lead, but the Chiefs tied things once again at 6:08 with a score form Eli Zummack; his second in as many nights.
A hooking penalty 1:23 into overtime resulted in penalty shot for Everett captain Bryce Kindopp. He capitalized, moving into second place in the WHL in goals scored and securing the victory for the Silvertips.
In his first game in nearly a month due to injury, Spokane goaltender Lukas Parik went 21-for-25 while Calgary Flames prospect Dustin Wolf finished 37-for-40 for Everett. The Chiefs went 1-for-2 on the power play and the Silvertips went 2-for-2.
