Metairie, LA â The New Orleans Zephyrs, the Class AAA Pacific Coast League Affiliate of the Houston Astros would like to announce that outfielder Jason Lane has been placed on the disabled list with an abdominal injury.
Lane, 26 from Sebastopol, CA, has a .280 (46x164) batting average with 5 HR and 26 RBI for the Z's this season. Lane visited a specialist in Worcester, MA. and received cortisone shot on Wednesday. This is the second time this season Lane has been on the disabled list.
The Zephyrs open a four game series at Zephyr Field on Thursday at 7:05 PM against the Sacramento River Cats. The Nashville Sounds lead the Z's by 2 ½ games in the PCL Eastern Division. The game can be heard on WTIX-AM 690 and at www.zephyrsbaseball.com with Tim Grubbs calling the action.
