Lamothe Makes Stopover in Grand Rapids

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Saturday announced that goaltender Marc Lamothe has been reassigned by the Detroit Red Wings. As a result, the Griffins today assigned goaltender Andrew Allen to the Dayton Bombers of the East Coast Hockey League.

Lamothe was recalled by the Red Wings yesterday and served as the team's backup during its 3-3 tie at Dallas last night. Following tonight's Griffins game against the Utah Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. at Van Andel Arena, he is scheduled to rejoin the Red Wings in Detroit for their game against the St. Louis Blues tomorrow at 7:00 p.m.

The 28-year-old Lamothe currently ranks among the AHL's leaders with nine wins (T4th), a 2.07 goals against average (T3rd), two shutouts (T3rd) and a 0.927 save percentage (4th).

Allen, 26, served as the backup to Joey MacDonald during the Griffins' 3-2 loss to Utah last night. He has played 13 games for Dayton this season, posting a 4-7-1 record with a 3.33 GAA, a 0.889 save percentage and one shutout.
