Bulldogs Win Fifth Straight Road Game

The Hamilton Bulldogs won their fifth straight road game as they defeated the Cleveland Barons 3-1 at the Gund Arena in Cleveland on Saturday night. The win was the Bulldogs' second straight in as many nights over the Barons.

The Bulldogs record now improves to 18 wins, 6 losses, 1 tie and 2 overtime losses. Hamilton is currently in first place overall in the AHL with 39 points.

Tomas Plekanec led the way offensively for Hamilton as he scored two goals on the night. Marcel Hossa had the Bulldogs' other goal. Earning assists for the Bulldogs were Michael Ryder (2), Hossa, Bobby Allen and Francois Beauchemin.

The Barons loan goal was scored by Jonathan Cheechoo.

Bulldogs goaltender Mathieu Garon stopped 15 shots to earn his seventh win of the season. Seamus Kotyk stopped 27 shots in goal for the Barons.

The Bulldogs will try to make it three wins in a row at Copps Coliseum on Sunday at 4 p.m. as they host the Barons for third time in three days. Fans are asked to bring a toy for 'Y108 Stuffed Animal Day', which is to be tossed on the ice after the Bulldogs' first goal. The toys will be collected and distributed to children through local charities.
