Saint John Flames News Release

Saint John, NB - The Saint John Flames dropped their second game in as many nights to the visiting Binghamton Senators. The game, a 2-0 loss, also marked the Flames first shutout loss of the season.

The goaltenders were most of the night, both netminders turning aside all the games shots until 1:04 remaining in the third when Joe Murphy converted on a setup by Ottawa Senators highly touted first round draft choice Jason Spezza. Steve Martins added an empty net goal with 22 seconds remaining to cap off the night.

Saint John now has 19 points with an 8-12-2-1 record. The Flames now turn their sights to next weekend when the Albany River Rats will be in town. Tickets for the Friday, December 13 and Saturday, December 14 contests and all remaining Flames December and January home games are currently available at the Harbour Station Box Office, the Imperial Theatre Box Office, selected Irving locations (Main Street West, Champlain Heights, Millidgeville, Marr Road, Hampton and Grand Bay), and Charge-by-Phone at 657-1234 or 1-800-267-2800.

All Flames broadcasts can be heard live on 96.1 NewSong FM in Saint John or on the web at www.newsongfm.com.

The 2002-03 season marks the Saint John Flames' tenth as a member of the AHL and as the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.
