FORT WAYNE, Ind. - TinCaps second baseman Lucas Dunn nearly hit for the cycle Friday night, and right fielder Joshua Mears drove in two, but the Lake County Captains (Cleveland Guardians affiliate) took the lead late and beat Fort Wayne, 10-4, at Parkview Field in front of a strong crowd of 4,430.

Dunn registered a single, double and triple and notched his third RBI of the series. He has four hits in his last five at-bats including Thursday night in the TinCaps; win.

Mears has also reached base in six of his last eight plate appearances, tallying RBIs on a single in the second and a double in the fourth. At the time, Mears' two-out fourth inning double gave Fort Wayne a 3-2 lead.

After a run-scoring hit by designated hitter Nathan Martorella, Lake County would go on to score the final eight runs of the contest, headlined by a five-run seventh. Captains second baseman Jake Fox was a triple shy of the cycle and collected three of his four hits of the season Friday.

Starting righty Victor Lizarraga, the No. 7 prospect in the Padres system according to MLB.com, allowed just one earned run across four innings-the deepest a Fort Wayne starter has gone so far this season. Aaron Holiday also contributed two innings of one-run ball in relief.
