Los Angeles FC News Release

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that the Club has traded $50,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) to the Philadelphia Union in exchange for the MLS Homegrown rights to goalkeeper Tomas Romero.

In 2019, Romero saw action in nine regular season contests (eight starts) for Bethlehem Steel in the USL Championship. He earned USL Championship Player of the Week (Week 20) after a career-high 11-save performance during a 1-0 win over Louisville City on July 20, 2019. Romero, 20, made his international debut with El Salvador's U-17 side at the 2017 Bolivarian Games in Colombia, playing four matches against Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela and Bolivia.
