Chicago Fire FC Selects Three Players in 2021 MLS SuperDraft Presented by Adidas

CHICAGO - Chicago Fire FC selected three players in today's 2021 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas. The Club picked defender Jackson Ragen (33rd overall) and forward Christian Pinzon (47th overall) in the second round, before choosing midfielder Mitch Guitar (60th overall) in the third round.

Ragen, 22, has played three years at the University of Michigan where he totaled 58 appearances (52 starts). An All-Big Ten selection in 2019, the 6-foot-6 defender finished the year starting in all 21 matches and tallying two goals and four assists. In 2017, Ragen made three appearances for Seattle Sounders FC 2.

Pinzon, a forward from California State University, Fullerton, has played three seasons at the collegiate level. The Bellflower, Calif. native totaled 54 appearances (32 starts) with 14 goals and seven assists while being named to the Big West First Team All-Conference in 2019. Pinzon, 22, started in all 20 games for the Titans in 2019, helping lead the team to their best start in program history (8-0). He finished the year with a team-high 21 points.

A University of Wisconsin product, Guitar tallied two goals and five assists over 58 games (43 starts) for the Badgers across three seasons (2016-18). Guitar, 23, was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team in 2018. In 2020, Guitar joined Indy Eleven, signing his first professional contract.
