LA Galaxy Name Shaun Tsakiris as LA Galaxy Academy U-17 Head Coach

LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy today announced that the club has named Shaun Tsakiris as the LA Galaxy Academy's U-17 Head Coach and Director of Individual Development Programs and Ian Feuer as the LA Galaxy Academy's Director of Goalkeeping. Additionally, the LA Galaxy Academy announced its technical staff for the 2022-23 season.
"Shaun is a great addition to the Academy staff that we have assembled for the 2022-23 season," said LA Galaxy Director of Methodology and Development Michael Muñoz. "The Academy staff shows the ambition that we have in driving youth development in this country. It is diverse, ambitious and they are experts in their age groups that will push the teams and individual players to be the best version of themselves on and off the field."
Tsakiris, 43, who holds a U.S. Soccer "A" coaching license, serves as the assistant coach for the United States U-20 Men's Youth National Team that qualified for the 2023 U-20 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia. The San Jose, Calif., native was previously the head coach of the USMNT's U-16's from 2016-18, and served as the Technical Director for Los Gatos United.
Prior to his coaching career, Tsakiris was drafted by the New England Revolution in the 2001 MLS SuperDraft following four collegiate seasons played at UCLA (1997-00), and played professionally for the Rochester Rhinos (2002-05) of the USL A-League. At the youth level, he represented the U.S. U-20 Men's National Team at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship in Nigeria.
Feuer is the goalkeeper coach for the LA Galaxy's USL Championship affiliate LA Galaxy II and was formerly the Galaxy's goalkeeper coach from 2006-13. The Las Vegas, Nev., native's playing career included stints with English sides West Ham United, Wimbledon F.C. and Luton Town, in addition to two seasons in MLS with the New England Revolution in 1998 and the Colorado Rapids in 1999.
