Colorado Rapids News Release
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Rapids Academy goalkeeper Adam Beaudry has been called up to the U.S. Under-17 Men's Youth National Team as it prepares to compete in the Vaclav Jezek Youth Tournament in the Czech Republic from September 16-26. The U.S. team, led by head coach Gonzalo Segares, is set to compete against Slovakia on September 21, Germany on September 23 and Czech Republic on September 25.
Beaudry, 17, joined the Colorado Rapids Academy as a U-16 player after spending a majority of his youth career with Real Colorado. The young goalkeeper was called up to the U.S. U-17 MYNT Domestic Camp last month where he trained for a week in Chula Vista, California. Beaudry also earned the honor of competing in the inaugural MLS NEXT All-Star Game in August as part of the 23-man roster representing the West, playing 45 minutes in the match and recording two saves.
During the 2021-22 season, Beaudry has appeared in 10 matches for the Rapids U-17 Academy team, amassing a total of 900 minutes on the pitch. He has also trained consistently with the Colorado Rapids 2 team in MLS NEXT Pro and made his professional debut on July 27, 2022, playing 45 minutes in the team's match versus Premier League 2 side Wolves U-21.
"It is great to see further recognition for Adam based on his hard work and performances at the recent U.S. U-17 Men's Youth National Team camp," said Chris Cartlidge, Rapids Academy Technical Director. "We continue to see exciting growth and development in Adam's game in both the training and competition environments with Rapids 2 and the Academy. Adam has had a busy year with call ups to the Youth National Team Camp and MLS NEXT All-Star game. The opportunity to travel and compete with the team at the Vaclav Jezek Youth Tournament will be another great developmental opportunity for Adam."
