Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, announced today that defenseman Tomas Kudelka has been chosen to represent the Elmira Jackals on the American Conference roster for the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light.
Kudelka replaces Bryan Rodney who was voted to the American Conference starting line-up by the league's media, players, and coaches. Rodney was acquired from Fresno in a December 3rd trade, but is unable to appear in the All-Star contest as he is currently on loan to the Albany River Rats of the American Hockey League.
A fifth round pick (136th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Kudelka has picked up two goals (both game-winners) and eight assists for 10 points with eight penalty minutes and a +1 rating in 13 games with the Jackals. With Ottawa's AHL affiliate in Binghamton, the rookie blue liner has a goal and six penalty minutes in 18 contests.
Appearing in 23 ECHL games between Columbia and Elmira this season with seven goals and 21 points, Rodney led ECHL defensemen in scoring at the time of his most recent loan to Albany on December 18th. In 14 games with the River Rats, Rodney has score once and added five assists for six points with a -5 rating and four penalty minutes.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on January 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on January 22.
