Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced Wednesday that the team will hold the inaugural "Read at the Rink," presented by Little Caesar's Pizza and the Fresno County Bar Association, when they host the Las Vegas Wranglers on Saturday, February 2, at 7:30 p.m.
"Read at the Rink" is a celebration of literacy and a book drive benefiting area reading programs and the Central Valley Book Bank. Read at the Rink 2008 is presented by the Fresno County Bar Association, Little Caesars, CBS 47, JACK FM and Hometown Values Magazine. The book drive benefits the Central Valley Book Bank which feeds several area reading programs. Several of the area reading programs are selling Read at the Rink fundraiser tickets. Participating organizations for Read at the Rink include: Fresno County Libraries, Tulare Read, Tulare County Library, One-by-One Leadership, Read Fresno, Reading and Beyond and Fresno State's Mediator Mentors. Fans are encouraged to donate new and gently used books. All books are welcome with more of a demand for children's books. Fans who donate books at Read at the Rink will be entered in to a drawing to win valuable prizes. The first 2000 fans at the February 2 Read at the Rink game will receive a free Falcons long sleeve Read at the Rink t-shirt courtesy of Little Caesars and Alpha Designs of Hanford.
"The Fresno Falcons are proud to celebrate literacy and promote this book drive. Read at the Rink is a celebration of reading and we look forward to packing the Save Mart Center and collecting more than 1,000 books at the February 2 game!"
Falcons CEO John Tull
Read at the Rink tickets are on sale at the Save Mart Center and Ticketmaster. For more information call the Falcons at 559-485-PUCK (7825).
