January 17, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Victoria Salmon Kings News Release
Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that they will be hosting the Jeneece & Friends Coin Drive for Variety -The Children's Charity at this Sunday's matinee contest against the Fresno Falcons.
Since starting this annual event six years ago, Jeneece's goal has been to raise $1 million for Variety. To help celebrate this amazing young lady's 14th birthday, the Salmon Kings will donate partial ticket proceeds from a Variety Group Sale to the Coin Drive, and place coin receptacles at each of our home games from now until the end of the Coin Drive event.
With the help of Zellers, all proceeds from the Chuck-A-Puck competition during the second intermission will also be donated to the Jeneece & Friends Coin Drive for Variety.
Sunday also marks the Salmon Kings Guide and Scout Game at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The first 500 youth and leaders to arrive at the game in uniform will receive a commemorative badge, while all Scout and Guide groups receive a special $13.50 discount ticket to the game.
All fans attending this Sunday's game are also encouraged to bring their skates and join the Salmon Kings on the ice immediately following the game as the Victoria Salmon Kings Booster Club presents a 'Skate with the Salmon Kings!'
The Salmon Kings will play a three game set against the Fresno Falcons this weekend, with Friday and Saturday's games starting at 7:05 p.m. while Sunday's contest goes at 1:05 p.m.
For information on tickets for the series, please call the Select Your Tickets Box Office at (250) 220-7889.
