
McNabb Named Captain of All-Star Squad

Beaumont, TX- The ECHL announced that John McNabb of the Texas Wildcatters will be Captain of the American Conference team for the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light. Peter Ferraro of the Las Vegas Wranglers has been named Captain for the National Conference. McNabb, 29, captains the first-place Wildcatters and leads the team in points with 18 goals and 30 assists (48 points) in 37 games.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on Jan. 22.
The alternate captains will be Darrell Hay of the Idaho Steelheads and Ash Goldie of the Victoria Salmon Kings for the National Conference and Jamie Milam of the Gwinnett Gladiators and Aaron Slattengren of the Augusta Lynx for the American Conference.
Ferraro, Milam, McNabb and Slattengren are all making their first-ever All-Star appearance and start. It is the second consecutive appearance and start for Hay, who was captain for the National Conference in 2007, while Goldie was selected for the 2006 All-Star Game but was unable to play because of an injury.
The Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be televised live at 10 p.m. ET on NHL Network for sixth-consecutive year. The telecast is available online free-of-charge through the ECHL web site on B2 Networks, the "Official Broadband Broadcast Provider of the ECHL".
The Broadcast will be carried live on XM Radio for the third consecutive year on NHL Hockey Play-by-Play (XM Channel 206) at 10 p.m. ET on Jan. 23 in the United States.
