Komets Win 4-1, Take Weekend Series 2-1

Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 4-1 to the Fort Wayne Komets this afternoon, dropping the weekend series 2-1.

An early power play opportunity allowed Komets left wing Chris Auger to score just 2:54 into the game. Wranglers forward Geoff Irwin tied the game 1-1 midway through the period, but Komets defenseman Jace Coyle regained the lead with another power play goal to end the first. A scoreless second period saw 54 penalty minutes accumulate between the two teams.

Forty-four seconds into the third, Auger collected his second goal of the night for Fort Wayne. To secure the 4-1 win, Komets right wing Brandon Marino beat Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton in the final 1:22 of the contest. A total of 116 penalty minutes were assessed.

The Wranglers begin five weeks of road games with a contest against the Bakersfield Condors on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 7 p.m. The team next returns home on Friday, Dec. 6, with a post-game concert by The Smithereens.
