Komet's Kurk UHL Goaltender of the Week

Fort Wayne, IN --- The United Hockey League announced today that Komet goaltender Kevin Kurk has been named the UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 16.

Kurk, 25, won both appearances of the week stopping the visiting Muskegon Fury Friday night 5-2 making 23 saves on 25 shots and turning back the Tarry Cup Champion Kalamazoo Wings Saturday night in Fort Wayne 4-3 blocking 23 of 26 shots. For the week Kurk posted a 2.50 goals-against average stopping 46 of 51 shots for a .902 save percentage and extended his unbeaten (in regulation) streak to 9 games (7-0-2).

Kurk finished the month of April with a 3-0-1 record in 4 games played and posted a 2.00 goals-against average and collected 95 shots on 103 shots for a .922 save percentage for the month.

The Orchard Park, New York native completed the season with a 9-4-2 mark, 2.50 goals-against average and .910 save percentage after appearing in 18 games.
