Knights in Search of Military Heroes for Inaugural Card Set

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights will continue honoring members of the Military this season with two more Military Appreciation Games set for 7:05 p.m. on July 3 and 5:05 p.m. on August 9. Starting today, the Knights are in search of nominations for the team's Military Heroes Baseball Card Set, which will be given away to the first 1,000 fans at BB&T Ballpark on Sunday August 9 during the third and final Military Appreciation Game of the season. The inaugural card set will represent each branch of the military and honor those heroes who have served or are serving in our armed forces.

"We're looking to honor Military heroes who have served or are serving with this one-of-a-kind card set for fans," stated Knights General Manager Scotty Brown. "We look forward to hearing from our fans as they nominate these important individuals who have served our country."

All Military heroes who are selected to appear in the inaugural card set will be recognized on the field before the 5:05 p.m. game on August 9 against the Rochester Red Wings.

Nomination forms are currently available to download at www.charlotteknights.com and can be emailed back once completed to community@charlotteknights.com. Please remember to attach a photo of your nominee in uniform along with the email.

All forms can also be dropped off at BB&T Ballpark during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday). Please include a photo of the Military hero in uniform along with your completed nomination form. The deadline to submit all nomination forms is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23.
