Charlotte Knights News Release
(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game three of the six-game series against the Nashville Sounds by a score of 10-6 on Thursday night from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. Despite the loss, the Knights still lead the series, two games to one.
The Charlotte offense scored all six runs over the final three innings of the game, but fell just short in the comeback attempt. Yolbert Sánchez had two hits on the night, including a triple in the bottom of the ninth inning. He also scored two of Charlotte's six runs on the night.
Charlotte center fielder Mark Payton and third baseman Zach Remillard were also bright spots for the Knights in the game three loss. Payton, who hit two home runs in Wednesday's game, added two more hits to his season total on Thursday night. He reached base a total of four times, finishing the game 2-for-3 with a double and two walks.
Remillard provided Charlotte's lone home run of the game, a three-run blast in the bottom of the seventh inning. The home run was his eighth of the season.
RHP Tobias Myers (1-14, 7.13) started for the Knights and allowed two runs on seven hits over four innings. He was saddled with the loss, his fifth with the Knights and 14th overall this season.
The Knights will continue the six-game home series against the Nashville Sounds (Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers) on Friday night from Truist Field. First pitch is set for 7:04 p.m. from the home of the Knights on Friday. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com.
