Knights Fall to Jumbo Shrimp 7-3 Friday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Second baseman Tim Beckham blasted his 10th home run of the season, but the Knights dropped game four of a six game series against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp by a score of 7-3 on Friday night from Truist Field.

Beckham continued his hot hitting in the month of June. The 31-year old, who has now homered in four straight games, upped his batting average to .252 as he collected a pair of hits on the evening. Third baseman Marco Hernández added a solo shot for the Knights to extend his hitting streak to five games.

Shortstop Matt Reynolds had his hitting streak come to an end after collecting a hit in a team-best 11 straight games prior to tonight's contest. Designated hitter Jake Burger extended his hitting streak to four with a third inning single and also added a triple in the eighth inning.

The Knights handed the ball to RHP Jonathan Stiever (2-3, 6.03 ERA), who was saddled with the loss after he allowed six runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings pitched.

The two teams will continue the series on Saturday at 7:04 p.m. RHP Jimmy Lambert (1-0, 4.22 ERA) will get the start for the Knights in game five against the Jumbo Shrimp.
