
Knights Fall to IronPigs 6-0 on Saturday

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - The Charlotte Knights dropped game five of the six-game series against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs by a score of 6-0 on Saturday afternoon from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte.
RHP Mike Wright started the game for the Knights and was sharp over three shutout innings. He walked one and struck out three batters. He didn't allow a hit in his three frames.
The IronPigs scored for the first time in the top of the fourth inning off Charlotte reliever Steven Moyers (1-1, 5.85), who was charged with the game five loss. Moyers allowed a fourth-inning home run to Donny Sands and a fifth-inning home run to Will Toffey. In all, Moyers was charged with four runs on five hits over 1.2 innings pitched.
The IronPigs also received a solo home run from Josh Ockimey, who had a game-high three hits on the day.
Designated hitter Carlos Pérez led the way offensively for the Knights. Pérez had two of Charlotte's five hits on the day. Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal started his fifth game on major league rehab with the Knights. Grandal, who played first base on Saturday, went 0-for-3 at the plate.
Lehigh Valley starter Ricardo Sanchez (4-3, 4.76) tossed seven shutout innings to earn the win on Saturday.
Saturday's game also included a one hour and four-minute rain delay.
The two teams will conclude the six-game series on Sunday with a 5:05 p.m. game from Truist Field. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time Knights broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com.
