
Knights blast four home runs in win over IronPigs

(Allentown, Pa) - The road trip for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (20-18) continues to be a forgetful one as the Charlotte Knights (22-17) won 10-3 on Friday night. The Knights belted four home runs in the contest to lead the team to victory.
Lane Adams hit a two-run home run off Dylan Cease (3-1) in the top of the third inning to give the IronPigs a 2-0 lead. Charlotte struck back in the bottom of the third inning by scoring three runs off Alexis Rivero (0-1) to take a 3-2 lead. Alcides Escobar, Danny Mendick and Eloy Jimenez all hit solo home runs in the inning.
Malquin Canelo tied the game a 3-3 against Cease in the top of the fifth inning as he hit an RBI double that scored Ali Castillo. The Knights proceeded to score seven unanswered runs over the next four innings.
Rivero allowed three runs off five hits with two strikeouts in four innings. Seth McGarry pitched the next three innings and allowed four runs (three earned) off five hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Abdallah Aris made his triple-A debut and allowed three runs off four hits with one walk and two strikeouts in just one inning of work.
Shane Robinson and Adams each had three hits for the Pigs. Canelo and Mitch Walding each had two hits for Lehigh Valley.
The IronPigs and Knights play on Saturday evening at BB&T Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:04 p.m.
