MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled right wing Teddy Purcell from Manchester, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Kings announced today that captain and right wing Dustin Brown has been granted non-roster status by the NHL. Purcell, 23, has seven points (1-6=7) and two penalty minutes in 17 games with the Kings this season. The 6-foot-3, 202-pound native of St. John's, Newfoundland, also has 38 points (16-22=38) and 12 penalty minutes in 38 games with the Monarchs this season. At the time of his recall, Purcell led the Monarchs in goals (16) and ranked second on the team in both points (38) and power play goals (6). Purcell, who made his Kings/NHL debut last season (at Edmonton on January 15, 2008), has 10 points (2-8=10) and two penalty minutes in 27 career NHL games. He signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on April 27, 2007.

The 6-foot, 207-pound native of Ithaca, New York, has 48 points (23-25=48) and 54 penalty minutes in 58 games this season. Now in his fifth season with the Kings, Brown ranks second on the team in goals (23), power play goals (seven; tied with Anze Kopitar and Jarret Stoll) and points (48). In addition, the 2009 NHL All-Star leads the team with 213 hits (total ranks third in the NHL), 237 shots (total ranks sixth in the NHL) and five game-winning goals (total is tied for 14th in the NHL).
