
Kings Defeat Wild Things 11-1

Washington Wild Things News Release
Washington, PA - The Washington Wild Things (33-39), presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, were pounded by the Kalamazoo Kings Sunday night. The Kalamazoo victory gave the Kings a royal sweep for the series.
Kalamazoo scored early and often, including an explosive third inning when Brendon Murphy smacked a two run shot over the fence and Josh Short followed up with a solo homer. The Kings continued to add runs with three more in the sixth.
The Wild Things finally got on the board in the eighth inning. Michael Parker scored when Grant Psomas hit into a double play.
Craig Snipp (2-3) took the loss for Washington allowing seven runs in four innings. Chris Kupillas, Justin Edwards and Aaron Guinn pitched in relief.
Joe DePietro, who shut the Wild Things out in seven innings, got the win for Kalamazoo, allowing only four hits.
The Wild Things travel to Rockford where they will face the Riverhawks for a three game set starting Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on flagship WJPA 95.3 F.M. Washington returns to CONSOL Energy Park August 18th. Tickets are available at the box office.
