O'FALLON, MO - The River City Rascals made another trade to bolster their roster, picking up first baseman Ernie Banks from the Washington Wild Things in exchange for outfielder Ryan Groth and pitcher Chris Ingoglia.

Banks will take over the vacancy at first base as Scott Robinson leaves the club to continue his education. The 44th round selection by the Marlins in the 2007 Draft is currently fourth in the Frontier League in hitting at .343 and leads the league in slugging percentage at .686. Banks also has 19 home runs and 55 RBI in 204 at-bats this season with Washington.

Groth hit .308 in 29 games with the Rascals, joining the club a month ago after his release from the Los Angeles Angels organization. The left-handed hitting outfielder smacked three runs and knocked in 14 with six steals in his time with River City.

Ingoglia went 5-7 with a 6.66 ERA in 16 games (13 starts) with the Rascals. The southpaw was recently added to the bullpen and compiled two scoreless outings in 4.1 innings out of the pen. Ingoglia struck out 61 with 30 walks in 73 frames and allowed 16 home runs, tying the franchise single season record.

Banks will join the team tomorrow as the Rascals embark on a six game road trip to Kalamazoo and Traverse City. First pitch Tuesday night is set for 6:05 p.m.
