Kings Assign Two Players to Manchester

EL SEGUNDO, CA. - The Los Angeles Kings have assigned center winger Jared Aulin and defenseman Jason Holland to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.

Aulin, 20, has appeared in 17 games for the Kings this season, recording four points (2-2=4) and zero penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 34 games for the Monarchs this season, recording 34 points (8-26=34) and 17 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-0, 192-pounder from Calgary was acquired by the Kings from the Colorado Avalanche with Adam Deadmarsh, Aaron Miller, a first-round draft choice in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft (David Steckel) and a first-round draft choice in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft for Rob Blake and Steven Reinprecht on February 21, 2001. He made his NHL debut earlier this season and scored his first two NHL goals on February 7 versus Carolina at STAPLES Center.

Holland, 26, has not appeared in a game for the Kings this season. In 44 games with the Monarchs this season, he has 19 points (1-18=19) and 39 penalty minutes. In 24 career NHL games with the Kings, New York Islanders and Buffalo Sabres, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Morinville, Alberta, has two points (1-1=2) and 12 penalty minutes. He was signed by the Kings as a free agent on August 23, 2001.

Both Aulin and Holland are expected to join the Monarchs on their current two-game road trip to Saint John, New Brunswick. Both are expected to dress for Saturday's game against the Saint John Flames (6:00 p.m. EST).

The Kings continue their three-game homestand tomorrow afternoon at 1 p.m. at STAPLES Center versus the Islanders. The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports Net, ESPN Radio 710-KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network. The homestand concludes on Monday versus San Jose (7 p.m. start time).

The Monarchs (28-12-7-3, 2nd North Division) open a two-game series later tonight against the Saint John Flames (6:30 p.m. EST).
