Bulldogs Win 40th of Season

The Hamilton Bulldogs tied a franchise record, winning their 40th game of the season, as they defeated the Manitoba Moose 4-1 at the Winnipeg Arena on Friday night. The win guarentees the Bulldogs will finish over .500 for the fourth time in franchise history.

The Bulldogs record is now at 40 wins, 9 losses, 5 ties and 4 overtime losses. Hamilton leads the AHL with 89 points on the season.

All of the Bulldogs' goals on Friday night were even strength. Scoring for Hamilton were Ron Hainsey, Jason Ward, Tony Salmelainen and Bill Lindsay. The goal scored by Hainsey was his first with the Bulldogs. Manitoba's lone goal came from Mikko Jokela.

Bulldogs' goaltender Eric Fichaud, the game's first star, stopped 38 of the 39 shots that he faced on the night. Alex Auld had 24 saves for Manitoba.

On special teams the Bulldogs were 0 for 2 with the man-advantage, while the Moose were 0 for 3 on the power play.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action will take place on home ice on Sunday, February 16th as they host the Cleveland Barons at Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
