Your RED HOT Cedar Rapids Kernels return home to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Monday, May 11th and open a seven game home stand. Here's a preview of what you can expect these next seven games:
May 11-14 vs. Peoria
The Kernels start a seven game home stand with four games against the Peoria Chiefs, the Midwest League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.
It's Mark Down Monday when the Kernels take on Peoria at 6:35 PM. Get regular hot dogs for $1.50, plus small popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, chips and Cracker Jacks are just $1.00 each. The Kernels welcome special guests from the Cedar Hills Booster Club and College Community Schools to the game. Gates open at 5:30 PM.
Twins Tuesday, presented by Great Clips returns when the Kernels take on Peoria at 6:35 PM. Follow the Kernels Facebook page or email newsletter for a buy one ticket, get one free offer every Tuesday home game. The Kernels will be wearing special jerseys that will be sold via a silent auction at the September 5th game. And one luck fan will win a pair of tickets to a Twins game. Gates open at 5:30 PM.
It's our first noon game of the season on Wednesday, May 13th, presented by 104.5 KDAT. You'll want to be here when the gates open at 11 AM as Western Fraternal Life will be passing out $500 to all fans age 18 and older. Enjoy our noon game combo special of a regular sandwich (hamburger, cheeseburger, hot dog or brat), chips or popcorn and a beverage (16 oz. regular draft beer or 20 oz. bottled soda or water) for just $8.50. The Kernels will recognize the 2015 Nick Adenhart Scholarship winner in a ceremony before the game. First pitch between the Kernels and Chiefs is set for 12:05 PM.
Thanks to First Federal Credit Union, three fans age 18 and older will win a 32" flat screen TV. Fans 18 and older can register at the First Federal Credit Union table to win one of three 32" flat screen TV and you must be present to win. It's also a Z 102.9 Thirsty Thursday where 12 oz. regular draft beer and 20 oz. bottled soda and water are just $2.00! And, it's Little Caesar's College Night. Show your college ID at the Kernels Ticket Office and get a Club ticket and two slices of Little Caesar's Pizza for just $8!. Gates open at 5:30 PM and first pitch between the Kernels and Peoria is set for 6:35 PM.
May 15-17 vs. Quad Cities
The Kernels continue a seven game home stand with three games against the Quad Cities River Bandits, the Midwest League affiliate of the Houston Astros.
You'll want to be here when the gates open at 5:30 PM as the first 1,000 fans receive a free set of 2015 Kernels Baseball Cards, thanks to Perfect Game USA. It's a 98.1 KHAK Kernels Friday Mug Club Night. Buy a 16 oz. souvenir mug for $6.00 and get it filled with regular draft beer or soda at the concession stands. Refills are just $3.00 the rest of the game. Bring your mug back to every Kernels Friday home game and get $3.00 refills. First pitch between the Kernels and River Bandits is set for 6:35 PM.
It's our first post-game concert of the season on Saturday, May 16th and the Pork Tornadoes are on tap to entertain fans after the game. Gates open at 4:00 PM for this special 5:05 PM start time. Enjoy post-game fireworks at dusk, presented by the Eastern Iowa Airport. Stop by the Eastern Iowa Airport table on the concourse for information on how you can win a trip to Denver. Kids can also run the bases and play catch in the outfield after the game until the fireworks show is ready to start. Fireworks nights are VERY popular so make sure to order your tickets online at www.kernels.com or call the Kernels Ticket Office at 896-7560 now.
The home stand wraps up with Jimmy John's Run the Bases Sunday (media sponsor 104.5 KDAT). Fans can play catch in the outfield and get autographs from the Kernels on the field after the game. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo during the game for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see the Twins play. Every Sunday home game, Goodwill is collecting donations - if a fan brings 10 or more donation items, they receive a coupon for a buy one ticket, get one free offer for a future Sunday Kernels home game. It's also a New Belgium Brewing Bike to the Ballpark Game - fans are encouraged to ride their bikes to the games and park them in the secure parking area inside the stadium. Win prizes from New Belgium Brewing and Fleck Sales just for riding your bike to the ballpark. Enjoy Papa Balloon, Face Painting by Kennedy and Magician Jackson Green on the concourse during the game. After the game it's the Chuck Fulton Memorial Home Run Derby, presented by Perfect Game USA and the Kernels. The derby is FREE to boys and girls ages 12 and under, advanced registration is recommended but you can still sign up at the game. Gates open at 1:00 PM and first pitch between the Kernels and Quad Cities is set for 2:05 PM.

Run the Bases Sunday, presented by Jimmy John's: After every Sunday home game, kids (and adults) can run the bases, play catch on the field and get autographs from the Kernels, sponsored by Jimmy John's with media sponsor 104.5 KDAT. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and face painting by Kennedy. Magician Jackson Green will entertain at Sunday home games, starting May 17th.
Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo: Every Sunday home Kernels game, play Travel Advisors Baseball Bingo, co-sponsored by the Radisson near Mall of America, for a chance to win a trip to Minneapolis and see a Twins game. Five winners are chosen each Sunday and the finals are Sunday, September 6th.
Goodwill Donation Sunday: At every Sunday home game, Goodwill will be collecting donations at the main gates. If a fan brings 10 or more donation items, they receive a coupon for a buy one ticket, get one free deal from Goodwill to a future Sunday Kernels home game.
Mark Down Monday: Regular hot dogs are $1.50, plus small popcorn, ice cream sandwiches, chips and Cracker Jacks are each $1 on Monday home games.

Free Money Wednesday, presented by Western Fraternal Life: Western Fraternal Life will give away $500 at the main gates to fans age 18 and older at every Wednesday home game with $100 as the top cash prize.
Flat Screen Thursday, presented by First Federal Credit Union: Every Thursday home game, fans age 18 and older can sign up at the First Federal Credit Union table on the concourse to win one of three 32" flat screen TV's that will be given away during the game. You must be present to win.

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday and from 10 AM to 2 PM on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 AM on Kernel Sunday Home games.
