
Captains Shut out Loons

Lake County Captains News Release
(Eastlake, OH) -The Lake County Captains got a second straight great start out of lefty Anderson Polanco who limited the Great Lakes Loons to just three hits over five innings while earning his second win of the year. Yu-Cheng Chang drove in two runs with a double and homerun as the Captains picked up their second win in as many games over the Loons with a 6-0 decision.
Greg Allen got the Captains started in the bottom of the first with a ground rule double into the leftfield corner. With one out, Chang would single to drive in Allen for a 1-0 lead.
The Captains would add a second run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Chang would collect his second homerun of the season, a solo shot for a 2-0 lead.
A four run bottom of the eighth inning would put the game away for the Captains. With one out Chang would double for his third hit of the night. Taylor Murphy would then single for his third hit of the game. Dorssys Paulino then doubled home Chang. A walk to David Armendariz would then load the bases with one out. Back to back bases loaded walks and an RBI sacrifice fly from Ordomar Valdez would finish the scoring for the Captains and leave them with a 6-0 lead.
Chang and Murphy would finish the night with three hits each while Paulino would add two hits of his own. Chang would also drive in two runs. Paulino, Francisco Mejia, Sicnarf Loopstok and Valdez would all add one RBI each.
Polanco (2-3) earned the win with five innings of three hit baseball. He allowed two walks and struck out six. Jordan Carter would follow Polanco with two innings of two hit relief. He walked one. Cameron Hill then went one inning of one hit relief. Hill walked one. Luke Eubank finished off the game with a perfect inning of relief.
The Captains will look for the sweep of the Loons on Saturday night. Former first round pick Justus Sheffield (2-1) will start for the Captains.
The first of ten Saturday Fireworks Nights presented by Monreal Funeral Home and Cremation Service will take place on Saturday and will have a Pop Rock soundtrack.
Also on Saturday, the Captains will honor Mother's the day prior to Mother's Day with a special carnation giveaway presented by J.D. Ballantine's Flowers and Gifts.
