The Kelowna Rockets fell 5-1 in Swift Current to the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night.
Matteo Gennaro(19) opened the scoring for Swift Current at 8:09 of the opening frame. Glenn Gawdin(29) pulled the Broncos ahead by two at 12:36. Swift Current took a 2-0 lead into the second period.
At 1:10 of the middle frame Kaden Elder(6) gave the Broncos a 3-0 lead. The Broncos scored two more goals before the period was out and Swift Current took a 5-0 lead into the third.
Liam Kindree(6) scored a power play marker with 3:46 to go in the final stanza but that would be it as the Rockets fall 5-1 in Swift Current.
James Porter's record falls to 12-5-2-1 after stopping 21 of 26 shots. Kelowna outshot the Broncos 38-26.
Kelowna's record is now 18-11-2-1.
Following Wednesday night the Rockets head to Prince Albert to face the Raiders on Friday, December 15th before finishing off their prairie road trip in Saskatoon on December 16th.
The next home game for the Rockets will be December 27th when they host the Kamloops Blazers at Prospera Place for a holiday B.C. Division battle.
