Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen used a four-goal third period to power past the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-1 on Wednesday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

Riley Stotts (2g, 1a) and Jake Kryski (3a) led the way with three points each while goaltender Nick Schneider made 35 saves to record the win.

Vladislav Yeryomenko, Jakob Stukel, Andrei Grishakov and Cael Zimmerman rounded out the scoring for the Hitmen with Davis Koch providing the lone marker for Edmonton.

The victory moves Calgary within four points of the Kootenay ICE for a playoff spot as the two teams get set to collide in an important home-and-home set this weekend.

Sunday, Dec. 17 at 2:00 p.m. Sunday's game is the sixth annual Pucks for Paws in partnership with WEB Consulting Ltd. The campaign raises funds and awareness for the Four Feet Companion Foundation, a local volunteer-run agency that provides financial grants to registered animal charities in Calgary and area. It's also Sunday Funday presented by Pocky. There will be face painters, concourse activities, lots of giveaways and a post-game family skate that is FREE with a game ticket. Sunday Funday contests feature a specially priced $8.99 ticket (plus applicable fees) for kids 12 and under.
