The Kannapolis Intimidators made it two in a row over the Lexington Legends Thursday night with a 5-1 victory. Initimidators starter Terry Doyle pitched seven shutout innings, allowing five hits as he evened his record at 1-1. Kannapolis scored twice in the first inning. Leadoff hitter Daniel Wagner reached base on an error by Lexington first baseman Aaron Bray. Wagner stole second, went to third on an infield out and scored on a double by Nick Ciolli. One out later, Jorge Castillo doubled to score Ciolli.

In the Kannapolis seventh, a single by Wagner, a double by Shoemaker and a single by Ciolli produced one run. A wild pitch brought Shoemaker home to make the score 4-0. Ciolli then stole third base and scored on Castillo's sacrifice fly.

Starter Robby Donovan (0-1) took the loss for Lexington, though he allowed only the two unearned runs in five innings.

The Legends open their home season Friday night at 7:05 p.m. at Applebee's Park against the Greenville Drive.
