
Kai Wei Teng joins Kernels from Elizabethton

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that Kai Wei Teng has joined the Kernels from Elizabethton. Brian Maloney, Senior Manager of Minor League Operations, announced the moves.
The Twins signed Teng as a non-drafted free agent on October 20, 2017. He spent last season with the GCL Twins where he posted a 3-3 record and 3.59 ERA in 10 games (nine starts). In 42.2 IP, he allowed 36 hits and 17 runs (all earned) with 15 walks and 47 strikeouts.
Teng is active and available for today's 2:00 PM game at Beloit. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players, with three players on the injured list.
The Kernels are in the midst of a long road trip that continues this afternoon at 2:00 PM at Beloit. They return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Tuesday, June 11th and open a six-game home stand with games against Wisconsin and Clinton.
