Kalamazoo Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, two-time defending North Division Champions and reigning Eastern Conference Champions and affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders and American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce their 72-game schedule for the upcoming 2011-2012 season.
The K-Wings regular season will run from October 15th-March 31st. All 20 of the member clubs in the ECHL will play 72 games (36 home and 36 away).
Kalamazoo will start the season at Wings Stadium versus the Cincinnati Cyclones on Saturday, October 15th, when the K-Wings raise their North Division and Eastern Conference Championship banners prior to face-off. Prior to the opener, the K-Wings will host a pre-game indoor tailgate party.
The opening month of the season will include three home games, including the 8th Annual Orange Ice Game on Saturday, October 29th versus the Cyclones. Fans are encouraged to dress in costumes and participate in Halloween festivities. The Orange Ice clash will be the first of five premium night games on the K-Wings' schedule.

One of the most historic traditions in hockey will continue on Saturday, March 17th, when Toledo visits Wings Stadium for the 31st Annual World Famous Fifth-Third Bank "Green Ice" Game.
This year, the K-Wings will be celebrating their 38th season of professional hockey and third in the ECHL, which features coast-to-coast hockey with 20 teams in 16 states. Kalamazoo will play 12 of the league's 20 teams, all from the Eastern Conference.
