Chicago Express Announce Inaugural Season Schedule

The Chicago Express of the ECHL, are pleased to announce their official schedule for the 2011-2012 season. The 72-game schedule will kick off on Saturday, October 15 against the Toledo Walleye. The first season of Express Hockey is highlighted by 36 home games starting with the highly anticipated Season Opener on Saturday, October 22 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.

Express General Manager, Wade Welsh, is looking forward to bringing a new hockey team into Chicagoland. "We are ecstatic to drop the puck on Saturday, October 22 against the Kalamazoo Wings for our Inaugural home game in the ECHL and at the Sears Centre" said Welsh. "We have many exciting plans for the 2011-12 season, and opening night will be a must have ticket!"
The ECHL is a Premier AA hockey league and feeder for the National Hockey League and American Hockey League teams. It boasts 20 teams in 15 US states; 443 former ECHL players have played in the National Hockey League. For the 10th consecutive year, the ECHL is represented by the 2010 Stanley Cup Champions with Chicago Blackhawks assistant coaches Mike Haviland and John Torchetti.
Sears Centre Arena is an 11,000-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural, and sports arena located in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. The Sears Centre Arena, which opened in 2006, is designed to accommodate a variety of events including concerts, family shows and sporting events.
