Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals announced their schedule for the 2011-2012 season on Wednesday.
The Jackals kick off the upcoming season at First Arena on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7:35 p.m. against the Trenton Devils. Elmira has won each of its first four season openers at First Arena since joining the ECHL in 2007. The Jackals are also 4-0 in ECHL action in their first road game of each season and will attempt to extend that streak in Wheeling on Saturday, Oct. 22.
Elmira will play 12 home games on Fridays, 14 on Saturdays, four on Sundays and four on Wednesdays. The Jackals will play a special day-after-Christmas home game on Monday, Dec. 26 and will celebrate Valentine's Day on Tuesday, Feb. 14 with a home game as well. Elmira will play each Eastern Conference team at least one time at First Arena this upcoming year.
"We are very excited about the schedule for the upcoming season," Jackals general manager Robbie S. Nichols said. "With 32 weekend or holiday home games, we are looking forward to seeing the best fans in the ECHL in droves at First Arena this season."
The ECHL will once again feature 20 teams in the 2011-2012 campaign, up one from this past season. The Chicago Express will become the Eastern Conference's 12th team, while the Colorado Eagles, who were welcomed to the league on Tuesday, will replace Victoria in the Western Conference after the Salmon Kings relinquished their ECHL membership following this past season.
Season ticket packages are currently on sale to see the Jackals in 2011-2012 and start as low as just $324 for the whole year. Exclusive advantages available only to season ticket holders include a discount off the walk-up ticket price, the same seat all season long, access to the season ticket holder pickup party, no waiting in lines, discounts to select First Arena events, special season ticket holder coupons, and a season ticket book.
