
K-Wings schedule unveiled

Kalamazoo, MI. - The Kalamazoo Wings of the United Hockey League announces their schedule for the upcoming 2005-2006 season.
The K-Wings regular season will run from October 22nd-April 15th. All 14 of the member teams in the UHL will play 76 games (38 home, 38 away).
Kalamazoo will start their 26-week season on Friday, October 22nd when they stay in-state to battle the Port Huron Flags.
The Kalamazoo Wings will open up the home portion of their schedule against their arch-rivals when they face-off against the Fort Wayne Komets on October 29th. The game against the Komets will coincide with the 2nd Annual Orange Ice Game at Wings Stadium.
In total the K-Wings and the Komets will renew their rivalry seven times this season, with 4 of those encounters to take place at Wings Stadium.
Other highlights on this season's schedule are Saturday, December 31st, when the K-Wings host the Muskegon Fury on New Year's Eve. The K-Wings will welcome the Fury again to Wings Stadium for its "Pink Ice Game" on Tuesday, February 14th. One of the most historic traditions in hockey will continue on Friday, March 17th, when the Elmira Jackals visit Wings Stadium for the 25th Annual World Famous Fifth-Third Bank "Green Ice Game".
In addition to the highlights listed above, the K-Wings will host two kids' day games. The K-Wings will entertain the Motor City Mechanics on Wednesday, February 22nd on Education Day. Kalamazoo will hold their 3rd Annual Kalamazoo Public Schools Game on Wednesday, March 1st against the Port Huron Flags. Both matinee games will face-off at 10:30 a.m.
Besides the regular season, the K-Wings will also participate in three preseason games. The K-Wings first preseason test will be on Wednesday, October 12th against the defending Colonial Cup Champions, the Muskegon Fury. Kalamazoo will continue the preseason on Friday, October 14th at Memorial Coliseum against their archrivals the Fort Wayne Komets.
Both the K-Wings and the Komets will return to Wings Stadium on Saturday, October 15th for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff. The Saturday encounter will be the lone home preseason game for the K-Wings

Game times this year at Wings Stadium are as follows:
Monday-Thursday Games: 7:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday Games: 7:30 p.m.
Sunday Games: 4:00 p.m.
