Mallards unveil 2005-06 schedule

Moline, IL-The United Hockey League announced today the schedule for the 2005-06 season. The Quad City Mallards schedule features 38 home and road contests for a total of 76 games. The season opens on Friday, October 21st in Flint with the home opener scheduled for Saturday, October 22nd vs. Motor City.

The Mallards are home three times in the season's opening month as the team hosts Flint on Friday, October 28th and Rockford on Sunday, October 30th in addition to the opening night showdown with Motor City.

In November, the Mallards are home five times while playing nine road contests. The November schedule is highlighted by an east coast swing that features games in Adirondack (Wednesday, November 2nd), Danbury (Friday, November 4th) and a two-game set in Elmira (Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6th). The home schedule in November features a pair of visits by Missouri along with match-ups vs. Motor City, Fort Wayne and Muskegon.

The Mallards are on the road for nine consecutive games over a 29-day span beginning Sunday, November 27th in Rockford. The team returns home on Monday, December 26th for a post-holiday showdown with the Fort Wayne Komets. The last home game of 2005 is on Friday, December 30th as Quad City hosts the Flint Generals. On New Year's Eve, the Mallards are in Missouri to play their final game of the calendar year.

January begins with a three game road trip before the squad returns to the Quad Cities for a four-game home stand. The United Hockey League All-Star Classic will be played in St. Charles, Missouri on Wednesday, January 25th. The Mallards end January by hosting the Port Huron Flags for the first time in franchise history on Saturday, January 29th.

Quad City enjoys a favorable home schedule in February as the team is home for eight dates while appearing just three times on the road. In the second month of 2006, the Mallards host Missouri, Rockford and Kalamazoo twice each. The Roanoke Valley Vipers are at The MARK for the first time ever on Saturday, February 11th.

In March, the Mallards begin the season's home stretch with 14 games (eight home dates and six road contests) in 29 days. Former Mallard coach Paul Gillis returns to the Quad Cities with the Danbury Trashers on Saturday, March 4th. The Saturday night showdown marks the Trashers only appearance in the Quad Cities this season.

During the season's final month, the Mallards host two three-game home stands. The team closes its home schedule on Friday, April 14th vs. the Richmond Riverdogs. The Mallards play the final game of their 11th regular season the following night in Flint.
