Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings Vs Missouri River Otters Wings Stadium Kalamazoo, MI Friday, January 24, 2003 7:30 PM

Game Preview The Kalamazoo Wings look to avenge last week's 8-1 loss against Missouri tonight, as the fourth place K-Wings host the first place River Otters. Kalamazoo hasn't played a game since last Saturday, which means the K-Wings should be well rested for this return engagement. Tonight's game marks the eighth of twelve meetings between the teams this season, and the sixth encounter in less then a month.

Missouri enters the game in first place in the Western Conference. The top team in the UHL has a 9-point lead over Muskegon, who is in second place. The K-Wings enter the contest in fourth place in the Western Conference; however, the K-Wings are just 7 points out of second place and are only 6 points out of fourth place, as we get closer to the home stretch of the season.

Keyes Returns K-Wings forward Richard Keyes traveled to Cincinnati to play for the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks (AHL) on Wednesday. In his one game, Keyes had 5 shots, had a +/- of even and accumulated 4 penalty minutes. The Mighty Ducks defeated the Cleveland Barons 2-1 in OT. Keyes will return to Wings Stadium tonight as the K-Wings face-off against Missouri. In the Cards K-Wings forward Justin Cardwell has been on a scoring tear, as he has scored in 3 of his last five games. In his past five games, Cardwell has scored 3 goals and 1 assist.

Winterfest Comes to Kalamazoo Wings Stadium, Kalamazoo Wings, and the Kalamazoo Chamber of Commerce will be holding Winterfest 2003 this week. The festival, which will be held at Wings Stadium, will have numerous events including two K-Wings home games.

Playoff Push The K-Wings can see the playoffs around the corner. Entering tonight the K-Wings are only 7 points away from 2nd place and 6 points out of 4th. With 34 games left in the season for the K-Wings, 21 of them are on home ice.
