Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs scored six first period goals to jump out to a commanding 6-0 lead over the visiting Reading Royals and would go on for a 9-4 win Friday night at the War Memorial.

P.L. Courchesne registered a hat trick, J.F. Boutin had a goal and five assists, and Shaun Sutter had two goals and an assist in his first game with the Chiefs this season to lead the way. Dominic Forget, Dmitri Tarabrin and Sam St. Pierre also scored for Johnstown.

Alex Kim, Geoff Peters, Ray DiLauro and Steve Rymsha all scored for Reading.

Chiefs goaltender Peter Aubry made 30 saves for his 11th win of the season.

Reading goaltender Scott Fankhouser suffered the loss allowing five of the goals and making 16 saves. Jeff Sanger started the game for the Royals allowing four goals and making 7 saves.

The Chiefs improve to 15-23-7 on the season while Reading falls to 22-21-2.

The Chiefs are back in action at home tomorrow night, when they host the Dayton Bombers. Wednesday night The Augusta Lynx make their first ever appearance at the War Memorial. It will also be "Wacky Wednesday." All adult tickets will be just $7 and children's tickets $5.
