Bakersfield Condors News Release
Bakersfield, CA - The Bakersfield Condors of the West Coast Hockey League have announced the signing of rookie goaltender Beau Fritz today. He will be in the lineup tonight when the Condors host the San Diego Gulls at 7:00pm.
Fritz, 21, spent this season's training camp with the Long Beach Ice Dogs, but was released when they received B.J. Boxma from the Los Angeles Kings. The native of Colorado split last season between Lincoln and Waterloo in the United States Hockey League. In 2000-01, with the Lincoln Stars, Fritz was dominant in the USHL, recording a pair of shutouts among his 19 wins, which was fourth in the league. He finished in the top five in wins, goals against average, shutouts and save percentage.
The Condors made another roster move today, placing defenseman Quinn Fair on the 14-day Injured Reserve. Fair has played in five games this season, recording a pair of assists and a plus/minus of +5. He will be eligible to come off IR on Friday, February 7th. The Condors are in action tonight against the San Diego Gulls. Game time is 7:00pm from Centennial Garden, and the doors open at 6:00pm. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Condors 2002-03 team trading card set, sponsored by Time Warner Cable, FOX Sports 800 and Wm. K. Lyons Insurance. The game will be carried live on Time Warner Cable Ch. 21, and replayed on Saturday morning at 10:00am.
The Condors and Gulls meet again on Saturday night, also a 7:00pm start. The first 2,000 children 12 and under will receive a bobblehead doll of star netminder Kevin St. Pierre, sponsored by KGET-TV 17 and Carl's Jr.
Single-game tickets are available through the Centennial Garden Box Office, which opens at 10:00am Monday through Saturday. Tickets may also be purchased by phone through Ticketmaster at 322-2525, online at www.ticketmaster.com or at any Ticketmaster location. Season tickets and group outings may be purchased by calling 324-PUCK (7825), or by visiting the Condors office at Centennial Garden.
