Louisiana IceGators News Release

Lafayette, LA – IceGators center and captain Bruce Richardson has been loaned to the AHL's Hershey Bears, IceGators head coach and vice president of hockey operations Dave Farrish announced Friday. Richardson is expected to join the Bears in time for their game in Binghamton later today.

Richardson is the team's leading scorer with 61 points (19g, 42a), a total that had him ranked fifth in the ECHL. He is trying to become just the second IceGator in team history to lead the league in points.

Richardson's goal and assist total are both new career bests. The 5-foot-9, 175-pound Richardson has played in 296 career games, racking up 176 points (62g, 114a) and 929 penalty minutes. This is Richardson's second recall to the AHL this season, as he scored three goals in four games with Milwaukee.

The IceGators play host to Mississippi in a first-place showdown tonight at 7:05 p.m. Both teams enter the game with 56 points.
