
K-Wings Add Kivisto

Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL, three-time defending North Division Champions and National Hockey League affiliate to the Vancouver Canucks, and American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves announce the signing of defenseman John Kivisto. Per club policy, the terms of the contract will be undisclosed.
A member of the K-Wings for part of the past two seasons, Kivisto returns to Kalamazoo. Last season, Kivisto earned eight points (2 goals, 6 assists) and had a plus/minus rating of +12 in 21 games for Kalamazoo.
A four-year standout at Michigan Tech, Kivisto brings his defensive and physical presence to Kalamazoo. The native of Brighton, Michigan lead his Michigan Tech team in penalty minutes his senior year. Also, as a member of the Michigan Tech team, Kivisto lead his team on a campaign against Euro Elite League teams. Kivisto finished the tournament against the European competition as MVP.
Kivisto will make his season debut tonight for the K-Wings, as the team travels to the Ford Center to battle the Evansville IceMen at 7:15 p.m. (CDT).
