WHEELING, W.Va. - December 22, 2012 - The Elmira Jackals play their final game before Christmas tonight when they visit the Wheeling Nailers at WesBanco Arena. It is the third of a seven-game road trip.

The Jackals are facing the Nailers tonight for the fifth of 10 meetings this season and second of five at WesBanco Arena. The Jackals are 2-2-0 against the Nailers this season but have not beaten them since a 5-0 triumph in Elmira on Oct. 20. The Jackals were 3-4-1 at WesBanco arena in 11-12 and have an 11-10-2 record in their history here. The Nailers enter tonight's game with a five-game winning streak (second-longest current streak in ECHL) and have won six of their last 10 overall. Both the Nailers and Jackals have been incredibly busy over the last two weeks. These two games finish six in nine days for Elmira and eight in 10 for Wheeling.
The Jackals' are in the midst of a season-high seven-game road trip that will cover 2,652 miles round trip. They are 3-6-2 away from home this season with a 2-2-2 record over their last six games following a 1-4-0 start on the road. Elmira is tied for the fewest road games in the league (11) at this point of the season. After this trip the Jackals will have one more extended stay away from home when they are gone for five games from March 1 to 7.
