Alaska Aces News Release

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Aces winger Julian Talbot has been named to the ECHL All-Rookie team in a vote of head coaches around the league.

Talbot, who turned 22 last month, continues to enjoy a terrific first year as a pro which also has seen him score a goal for the National Conference in a 6-3 loss at the ECHL All-Star Game in January and the game-winner in his first ever American Hockey League contest on February 16 as a member of the Providence Bruins. The younger brother of Aces veteran Joe Talbot, Julian has 50 points (18g-32a) in 64 games with the Aces, fifth among ECHL rookies. He also ranks third among first-year players in the league with a +23 rating and 10 power play goals.

Talbot actually will miss tonight's game against Utah due to a one-game suspension imposed by the ECHL for slashing. The Aces begin their three-game series with the Grizzlies just one point out of the overall league lead, now held by Las Vegas, heading into the final weekend of the regular season. Alaska enters tonight's game, scheduled for a 7:15 p.m. start, winless in its last four games, but has not dropped a game at home in regulation since Utah pulled off a 6-4 upset January 5. The regular season ends with two more against the Grizzlies Friday and Saturday night at 7:15 p.m.

Unless Long Beach wins its final three games while Phoenix loses all three, the Aces will begin their quest for back-to-back ECHL titles Monday and Tuesday at Sullivan Arena, with both playoff tilts starting at 7:15 p.m. Tickets for the games against the Grizzlies as well as the 2007 Kelly Cup playoffs are now available at participating Fred Meyer locations or by logging onto www.alaskaaces.com.
