Fretter and Milam named to ECHL All Rookie Team

The ECHL announced today that Gladiators forward Colton Fretter as well as defenseman Jamie Milam were named to the ECHL All Rookie team.

Fretter, who has been on the injured reserve since February 15th, leads all rookies in scoring with 35 goals and 29 assists for 64 points in just 49 games this season with Gwinnett. His 35 goals ranks first among rookies while ranking 5th overall in the ECHL. Fretter has collected 17 power play goals to rank first among rookies and third overall this season.

In addition, he was named to the American Conference squad for the 2007 ECHL All Star Game where he scored the game winning goal for the American Conference in a 6-3 win. Fretter was also named the ECHL rookie of the Month for October as he collected 9 points in 5 games for the Gladiators.

The Harrow, Ontario native posted 112 points off of 43 goals and 69 assists in 159 career collegiate games at Michigan State. Fretter received the most votes overall among rookies as he was named to the All Rookie Team.

Jamie Milam leads ECHL rookie defensemen in scoring with 45 points off of 22 goals and 23 assists in 66 games with the Gladiators. He ranks first among ECHL rookie defensemen with 13 power play goals while ranking second among all ECHL defenseman in that category.

The Lake Orion, Michigan native was named the ECHL Rookie of the Month for February as he collected 13 points off of 3 goals and 10 assists for the Gladiators. Milam has collected a point in 33 of 66 games this season with Gwinnett.
